For many Atlanta couples, a wedding weekend at The Overlook at KC Bison Ranch is a chance to breathe. Our venue sits on sixty-one acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by vineyards, ponds, and open pastures. It's quiet, open, and filled with natural light. You can even watch bison grazing across the fields while you get ready for your ceremony. It's an experience that feels miles away from the city, even though you're still in Georgia.
The main reception hall gives couples room to celebrate without feeling crowded. With 5,400 square feet, thirty-foot vaulted ceilings, and sliding doors that open to the mountains, it blends rustic charm with simple elegance. We provide tables and chairs for up to two hundred fifty guests, plus estate tables and bourbon barrels that fit naturally into your decor. Two covered patios extend the evening outside, creating a natural flow from dinner to dancing under the string lights.
Our all-inclusive approach is what draws so many couples from Atlanta. Each package Classic, Choice, and Elite covers coordination, catering, photography, DJ and emcee, bartending, and floral design. You'll also have parking attendants, security, setup, and teardown all included. The Choice and Elite packages expand with upgraded decor, live music, and even helicopter or vintage car send-offs for couples who want something extraordinary.
Every wedding includes a 45-day-out and day-of coordinator who keeps the schedule seamless. You'll also have the support of our planners, who help with vendors and logistics from start to finish. That hands-on attention is what helps couples relax and enjoy their day instead of managing it.
Your day begins in our private suites. The 1,000-square-foot bridal suite includes salon stations, full mirrors, elegant decor, and a private bath with space for your entire wedding party. The groom's lounge offers classic styling, soft seating, and a mini fridge perfect for unwinding before the ceremony. Both spaces are filled with natural light, which makes them favorite spots for pre-ceremony photos.
From the ceremony arch overlooking the hills to the patios lined with string lights, every angle of The Overlook offers a view worth capturing. The bison pastures, vineyard paths, and lakeside reflections all create backdrops that look timeless without any staging. It's why our Atlanta couples often say their photos feel like a destination wedding, without ever crossing state lines.
What truly sets The Overlook apart for Atlanta couples is the ability to transform your celebration into a full destination experience. Our four modern lodges accommodate up to 37 guests overnight, allowing you and your closest family and friends to extend the celebration beyond a single day. Imagine waking up the morning after your wedding surrounded by mountain views, enjoying a leisurely breakfast with your new spouse and loved ones before heading back to the city. For out-of-town guests traveling from Atlanta, staying on-site means no late-night drives and more time celebrating together.
We built The Overlook at KC Bison Ranch to give couples a place that feels both peaceful and elevated. Whether you're planning an intimate ceremony or a weekend-long celebration, we'd love to show you around and help you picture your day here.

Kim Chapman, a Georgia native and UGA graduate, is a first-generation rancher. To embrace this new way of life, Kim sold a successful business and left life on Lake Lanier to move to the mountains and embark on this new venture. He has a son, Kyle, and a daughter, Kaci, both in their mid-twenties. As a child, one of Kim’s favorite hobbies was collecting buffalo nickels, and he has always been a lover of big animals. This is evidenced by his canine companions, a Great Pyrenees named Prince, and a Leonberger named Samson. He is excited to offer his God-given resources to others and watch them multiply.
