Florida couples planning a destination wedding want more than a beautiful venue. They want an experience that justifies the drive north, keeps their closest people together, and removes every logistical headache that comes with planning from out of state. That is exactly what we offer at The Overlook at KC Bison Ranch, located between Dahlonega and Cleveland in the North Georgia mountains.
When you fly or drive up from Miami, Tampa, or Jacksonville, a one-day celebration does not feel like enough. Florida couples consistently tell us they want the full mountain weekend: arriving Friday evening, waking up to vineyard views on Saturday morning, celebrating that evening, and gathering one last time on Sunday before heading home.
Our five modern lodges make that possible. With a combined capacity of 41 overnight guests, your immediate family and wedding party can stay right here on the property instead of spreading across hotels in Dahlonega or Cleveland. Each lodge includes wood-burning fireplaces, premium hot tubs, fully equipped gourmet kitchens, and panoramic views of the bison pastures, vineyards, and Blue Ridge Mountains. You wake up on your wedding morning already where you need to be.
Florida couples face a challenge that local couples do not: they cannot easily pop in to meet a florist, taste catering options, or check on setup details. That is why our all-inclusive model works so well for out-of-state couples.
Every package includes coordination, catering, photography, floral package, DJ, bartending, and setup and teardown services. You work with one dedicated team rather than managing a list of independent vendors you have never met in person. Ashley Maryanski, our Event and Vendor Coordinator, handles all vendor communication on your behalf from the moment you book. She knows which photographers excel at golden hour shots on the vineyard and which catering teams create the most memorable dining experiences for larger guest counts.
From there, our planners Kadie Hudgins, Kirstin Harper, and Rebecca Jackson take over from 45 days out through the wedding day itself, managing every detail of execution so you can focus entirely on your guests.
North Georgia offers something Florida simply does not: elevation, mountain pastures, rolling vineyards, and 20-plus bison roaming freely across 61 acres. The Blue Ridge backdrop creates ceremony and portrait opportunities that photographers love, and guests who have never seen mountains genuinely feel like they have arrived somewhere extraordinary.
Our 5,400 square foot reception hall with 30-foot vaulted ceilings and large sliding doors connects seamlessly to covered patios, firepits, and the open landscape beyond. Whether you are planning a 100-person gathering or a full celebration for 280 guests, the property absorbs it all without feeling crowded.
For Florida couples, The Overlook at KC Bison Ranch is not just a venue. It is the destination. Five modern lodges, a fully all-inclusive team, and a landscape unlike anything on the Gulf Coast come together to turn your wedding into a weekend your guests will talk about for years. Contact us today to schedule your tour.

Who helps us plan from out of state?
Ashley Maryanski, our Event and Vendor Coordinator, is your main point of contact through the planning process. She connects you with our preferred vendors, manages all bookings, and keeps communication smooth from your first inquiry through the wedding day.

Kim Chapman, a Georgia native and UGA graduate, is a first-generation rancher. To embrace this new way of life, Kim sold a successful business and left life on Lake Lanier to move to the mountains and embark on this new venture. He has a son, Kyle, and a daughter, Kaci, both in their mid-twenties. As a child, one of Kim’s favorite hobbies was collecting buffalo nickels, and he has always been a lover of big animals. This is evidenced by his canine companions, a Great Pyrenees named Prince, and a Leonberger named Samson. He is excited to offer his God-given resources to others and watch them multiply.
